Twitch title generator

Say what you are streaming. Ten titles come back, free and with nothing to sign up for.

Say what is happening today, not what the channel is generally about.

A stream title is not a video title

It is read in one second, by somebody scrolling a category

The audience is people browsing right now. A YouTube title is read by somebody deciding whether to watch a finished thing that will still be there tomorrow. A Twitch title is read in a grid of live thumbnails by somebody deciding in about a second. It has to say what is happening at this moment, and it has to say it in the first few words.

Say the state, not the theme. "Variety gaming" describes a channel. "Hour 6, still have not beaten this boss" describes a room somebody might want to be in. The second one also changes during the stream, which is the point — a title updated mid-session is one of the few free levers on the platform.

The category does more than the title does. Most people arrive through the game or the category rather than through search, so having the right one set matters more than any wording. The title is what makes them stop inside it.

Practical

Four things worth checking before you set one

Short list, because there is not much to a stream title and most of it is the first four words.

Front-load it

Titles are truncated in the grid and on mobile they are truncated hard. Whatever is actually happening goes first, before the greeting and before the channel name.

Change it during the stream

It costs nothing and it is the only thing you can update while live. When the run changes, the title should change with it.

Avoid ALL CAPS and emoji walls

They read as noise in a grid that is already busy, and they take space from the words doing the work. One or two words emphasised is different from a shout.

Do not put the game in it twice

The category already says what you are playing. Repeating it in the title spends the characters that could have said what is happening in it.

What this site is, and what it is not

We are not a Twitch tool, and this page will not pretend otherwise

Nothing here connects to Twitch. No account is linked, no channel is read, no clip is pulled and nothing is ever posted on your behalf. The generator above works for anybody because it needs nothing but the sentence you typed.

A stream can still come through the product, as a file. Export the VOD and upload it — mp4, mov, mkv or webm, up to 8 GB — and the whole thing is transcribed and read for the passages worth cutting. Pasted links are YouTube only, so a Twitch URL is not a way in; the export is.

That is a real cost and it belongs on this page. It means an extra step for every session, and for somebody who streams daily that step is the difference between using this and not. Better said here than discovered after signing up.

Questions

Does this connect to my Twitch account?

No. Nothing on this site connects to Twitch — no account is linked, no channel is read and nothing is posted for you. The generator only needs the sentence you type.

How long should a Twitch title be?

Under about sixty characters, and front-loaded. Titles are truncated in the browse grid and truncated harder on a phone, so whatever is actually happening has to be in the first few words.

Can I cut clips from my stream with the rest of this product?

Yes, but the VOD has to come in as a file. Export it from Twitch and upload it — pasted links are YouTube only. From there the whole recording is transcribed and the passages worth posting come back ranked.

Is it free, and is there a catch?

Free, with no account and no email. This page introduces a paid product further down — a tool that reads a long recording and finds the clips in it. The generator costs us a fraction of a cent per press.

Do you keep what I type?

The line is sent to a model to produce the answer and is not stored against you — there is no account here to store it against.

The title stops the scroll. The stream has to do the rest.
